HIST 346 History of Japan in Modern Times

The Tokugawa Shogunate and the Meiji Restoration are examined. Emphasis is on the development of democracy, militarism, the Japanese Empire through World War II, and the rise of the new Japan.

Credits

4 credit hours.

Prerequisite

Completion of one of the following: HIST 101, HIST 102, HIST 103, HIST 104, HIST 105, HIST 106, HIST 107, or HIST 161; or consent of department chair.
